Most images found on this website are available for licensing. Many include model and/or property releases.
{mosimage} Most images that contain recognizable people or non-public buildings, logos or symbols are generally disallowed for commercial purposes if they do not include a signed release. The Fair Use Act, however, allows an exception to this rule under specific conditions, such as editorial, educational, critique and parody use. It is the responsibility of the publisher to understand these rules. In any case, you are still required to obtain a license from the owner of the image.

AAFP offers a range of licensing applications, including usage for non-profit, branding, commercial, editorial, personal and educational. Images can be licensed for as little as $100, where the fee is based on a number of factors. Price can be quoted upon the completion of a simple form.
Licensing types can typically be divided into several different classes, including:
• Unlimited vs. Limited Rights: With a Limited Rights license each type of usage of an image will require its own licensing fee structure. With the purchase of Unlimited Rights, you are usually paying one fee to use the image as often as you like; however, you are still not allowed to resell or deface the image. Limited Rights constrain the usage by one or more factors. Other limitations include how or where the image can be used. Specifics can be negotiated.
• Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive Rights: Exclusive Rights guarantee you exclusivity to the image. Rights can be entirely exclusive or, for example, just exclusive to a region, industry or time period. Non-Exclusive Rights allow us to use the image at our own discretion.
Other factors that will affect the cost of the license are:
• How the image will be used (ie brochure, website, editorial, book)
• How big it will be (ie half-page, full-page)
• The size of the audience or circulation (ie 50,000 copies, regional website)
• The number of editions or issues (ie six-monthly publications, one-annual journal)
• Placement (ie back cover, inside contents)
